The Iron Trunk Lodge Honor actively engages youth and adult members by encouraging participation and sustained involvement across Mishigami Lodge through an array of chapter, area, and lodge events. The Iron Trunk Honor continues to uphold the principles of the Order fostering brotherhood, cheerfulness, and service. The Iron Trunk Honor allows Arrowmen to take an active role by participating in key lodge activities and choosing their own activities to ensure they achieve their highest purpose in the Lodge.
All core and elective requirements will be tracked and upheld in Lodgemaster.
All requirements must be completed in a calendar year (Jan. 1 to Dec. 31). This honor can be awarded to any dues paid member annually.
Core Requirements–All Items Required for Selection
- Be a Brotherhood member in good standing
- Participate actively in your registered Scouting Position
- Attend at least 1 Lodge wide event (Fall Fellowship or Winter Banquet)
- Attend at least 2 Lodge Induction Weekends following your Ordeal Weekend
- One of the 2 Lodge Inductions must be with your home area, and the second must be outside of your area
- Attend 3 Chapter Meetings (Virtual or In-Person Meeting)
Elective Requirements–Choice of 5 Items Required for Selection
- Serve as a member of a Lodge, Area, or Chapter Committee
- The LEC, AEC, and Chapter Executive Committee does not count
- Serve as a Lodge, Area, or Chapter Officer
- Serve as a Lodge, Area, or Chapter Officer Adviser
- Attend 3 Area Executive Committee Meetings
- Attend 3 Lodge Executive Committee Meetings
- Participate in at least 2 Camp or Chapter Service Projects taking place outside of an induction
- Participate in at least 1 Setup and 1 Takedown Day for the MSU Seatbacks Fundraiser
- Serve as a Unit Elections Team Member for at least 5 Unit Elections
- Serve as a member of the Ceremonies team personifying a principal 1 time, or as any other member of the Ceremony Team 2 times
- Serve as an Elangomat or Nimat
- Attend 1 Area Summit
- Attend a Section Conclave or Section Leadership Seminar, National Order of the Arrow Conference, or National Leadership Seminar
After review, the selected candidates will be presented with the award at Winter Banquet.
